Along with losing most everything they own, many of the hurricane survivors are also battling technology issues such as hosts under water, missing websites and no email. We’ve offered to help - since we just got our own shiny new server, we can take on up to 50 displaced sites - if anyone out there is able to offer some technical assistance (moving sites, uploading sites and configuring databases) can you please contact me and let me know?
Part of helping with the recovery is getting business and commerce back to a stable place. If you can help in any way, even if it’s just donating some hosting space, it will be deeply appreciated.
In other hurricane news, yesterday’s Blog for Katrina raised $ 347,382 in contributions so far - thank you! As a result of the overwhelming success, they’ve decided to carry things through the holiday weekend. So, before you go splurge on your holiday cookout, consider sending $20 of it to one of the many deserving organizations helping survivors.
We of course hope you will double your contribution by donating to Match The Good, a project from our friends over at Strengthen The Good. Your $20 actually turns into $40 this way - so come on, give.
