Inspired by Hugh Hewitt, marshaled by Glenn Reynolds, and organized by N.Z. Bear, nearly 700 bloggers from 11 countries have united today to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims. Last I checked, they had raised over $64,000 so far - keep on giving!
We’re especially fond of Matching The Good from our friends at Strengthen The Good - we’ve added to their matching program and I encourage you to give generously. If your company has set up a matching program, give there - the multiplier effect is a powerful one.
New support sites are springing up by the hour to support hurricane victims - here is the most up to date list of resources that I have:

Of course the scammers are already stealing from the victims - the FTC has a guide to finding a legitimate hurricane relief charity so that you don’t throw away your money.
Thankfully, we’ve heard from our New Orlean’s friends and they’re safe and sound, although clearly shaken by the horrific damage. I encourage you to dig deep to help these folks out - it is going to take time and money to put that beautiful city back together again.
Terry Teachout has a great list of Katrina resources and area bloggers that have managed to get back online. Chuck Simmins is tracking corporate and foreign giving over at Americans Helping Americans.
Help unravel the hurricane confusion - hurricaid.com is looking for bloggers to contribute their research and knowledge to hurricane victims.
Marketing Sherpa has resources for marketing, advertising and PR folks.
