In its previous incarnation, this blog often featured my favorite quotes and thoughts on them. Since it’s August and I’m feeling lazy, I thought I’d share one of my favorites with you.
“Progress isn’t made by early risers. It’s made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.”
- Robert Heinlein
I’m all about finding easier ways to get things done. Efficiency has always fascinated me, and doing more with less isn’t a new trend. Anyway - my lazy advice for today is to make sure that what you put time into producing can be used in at least 3 different ways.
If you write an article for publication or distribution, turn it into a workshop, free tele-course or seminar. Write it once and make it work for you in as many ways as it is feasible or practical. If you’re creating artwork, set up a system of limited editions, series and packages that allow you to re-sell high caliber reprints. Finding ways to re-use, re-package and re-print things is one of the laziest (and most efficient) ways to earn a living.
